All roads lead to New York, and the world is just outside our front door. We are in the heart of historic Chelsea, just minutes away from midtown and the Village. We are within walking distance of the vibrant Chelsea art scene, Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District, Greenwich Village, the Javits Convention Center, Madison Square Garden, parks, playgrounds, and Chelsea Piers. We are located on a quiet street right in the middle of it all. Close to theater, restaurants and shopping districts, and within minutes of all of midtown and downtown Manhattan by transit or taxi. We have a wealth of information about museums, local history and architecture, and can help you figure out what to see and how to get there.
We are within walking distance to many attractions, and the city is a great place to stroll. There is also an expanding network of bicycle lanes, and bikes are available for rental nearby. Many subway lines stop at 23rd Street: the A, C, E at Eighth Avenue, 1 at Seventh Avenue, F, and PATH at Sixth Avenue give you quick access to the rest of the city and even to New Jersey. The M23 crosstown bus (PDF schedule) goes across 23rd Street in both directions. From this bus you can transfer (for free, if you are using a Metrocard) to buses going up and down all of the avenues. We highly recommend getting a Metrocard. They work on both subways and buses and an unlimited-ride card good for seven days of travel is only 30 dollars.
